The development will consist of the demolition of the existing hotel structure 7-11 Ormond Quay and the existing non original structures to the rear of number 12 and 13.  Number 12 Ormond Quay Upper is a protected structure and will be refurbished along with No 13 Ormond Quay Upper.

Monteco Holdings plan 3008/13 was submitted 29th July.  It is currently before Dublin City Council Planning department for assessment.  The decision should be made by the end of October.  Please write to your public representatives with your concerns regarding the entire demolition of this important literary heritage site.  You can also write to planning@dublincity.ie and sign the petition on the following page. The conservation officers report also recognises that the facade of this building should be retained due to the historical significance of the building and connection to James Joyce. The deadline for submission for objections has now passed.  However, the public are entitled to raise their concerns.  You can do this through contacting DCC planning department directly and also lobbying your public representative and the Minister for Arts Mr Jimmy Dinnehan.  You can also send your concerns to the Arts Office at Dublin City Council
